Houston Botanic Garden

Landscape Art sourced and procured around 35,000 plants and trees for Houston Botanic Garden, which included 1,000 different varieties.  We installed subsurface drainage, imported more than 10,000 cubic yards of specified soils, and built irrigation systems for each individual garden type. We installed over 6,000 tons (12 million pounds) of boulders.

Houston Botanic Garden is organized by themed gardens, which include- Curiosity, Culinary, Asian, Tropical, African, Bamboo, Confetti, Arid, Wedding Glades, Lavender, Wood Lily, South Border, Collector’s, Mediterranean, and Family Discovery. Each garden was meticulously designed to reflect the individual theme, from the type and depth of soil, the chosen plant material and trees, the stones and boulders used, and how everything would interact with each other to create the desired ambiance of the garden.

The biggest challenge of all was that this land used to be a golf course! We were going from fairways and greens to beautifully lush landscapes.

In 2023, Houston Botanic Garden won Texas Nursery and Landscape Association’s Texas Excellence in Landscaping Best in Show Award.
